Learning something new presents challenges, but those challenges are far more easily overcome if you have fun along the way. For that reason, I put games, positivity, and good humor in the center an otherwise rigorous education. I teach both classical and rock/jazz piano, and if you or your child wants to learn or improve as a pianist, I can help make that experience fun.
At-home lessons offered to those within 30 minutes of Hamilton, NY. Accepting students 5 or older (including adults).
Hi! I'm Johnny. I'm a multi-genre pianist and teacher and I hold a Master's of Music in Collaborative Piano Performance from the Longy School of Music of Bard College. I started learning piano when I was five years old, growing up in the beautiful mountains of Southeast Alaska. Since then, I have been blessed to study with talented teachers of different genres with diverse styles. Through teaching, I find great purpose in passing along the special gifts and skills I have learned from those great pianists.

Master's Recital: My Family Drum
Free and open-to-the public, My Family Drum is a collaborative recital with 11 other musicians. Through pieces by Nadia Boulanger, Aaron Copland, Connor Chee, and many more, I explore the educational lineages that have forged my musicality, including those most influential in the development of the Longy School of Music. As such, this recital is dedicated to my teachers.
